For our film we had decided to use music with two different agendas. This is because the start is four different scenes of four different people getting ready for a party, for this we thought that girls normally listen to music so we found an upbeat song to play. We also need a tone for a phone ringing but we are going to leave it as a ringtone that is set on the phone because it was easier than finding another tone to use. In the first two minutes of our film, someone dies so we knew that we had to set the scene with dark and creepy music that had an under tone of sadness and sorrow for when this scene appears.
Looking for the correct music for getting ready for the party was very difficult because we kept debating on what genre of music we would use. At first we thought we would use an upbeat song from the charts but we shortly found out we weren't allowed to use them because the artist had copyright on them. This changed our decision slightly because trying to find a cover of an upbeat song was very hard in itself due to the fact most people just use a guitar which misses out most of the musical detail that would be playing on the radio.
In the end we found the perfect song to use that could be on the radio about 10:00 at night which is when our film is set with all the music and not just the guitar. The song we chose to use is Decode by Paramore which is when we started the search for the correct cover with enough detail that would be played on the radio. Eventually we found the cover by MEMELii which was in really good quality.

For the second song we needed something with a dark, eery and creepy yet needed to have a peaceful and sorrowful undertone because this is the song that sets the rest of the film. This sets the rest of the film because it would suggest that the girls are upset that their friend has died and they find her laying on the bed covered in blood but it also needs to be scary which will foreshadow at least one other death within the rest of the film. This was even more difficult because it had to be exactly correct and could not have any singing in it. We found many songs that fit this description after a few hours of searching and as a group we are still discussing which of the tunes will be using due to the fact it has to represent someones death and it needs to have the correct feeling to it. Currently we are thinking that the best one to use would be Young and Beautiful by Lana Del Rey which starts off rather slow but still captures the effect we want and need for the death of Scarlet (Megan).

When we started to look at our script we realised that we needed a song to go over the title scene as most films have. We thought that it would be a good idea to have constructed and made our song or tune for this because we had already used two different songs that we found over the internet. This has to be over 10 seconds because that is how long the title screen is shown for, however it needs to be longer so that we can cut it down to the correct time and theme we have been looking that compliments the title well. Chantelle is using garage band to create individual and original music which has a creepy undersetting as the film includes more than one death and no-one is expecting what is going to happen in the rest of the film or at the end.
